Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Tunisia. Airlines check this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Tunisia
Immigration may ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration rarely asks, but it helps if questioned.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have access to enough cash or a credit card to cover your expenses. Immigration does not routinely check this.Recommended
Keep your passport handy
Tunisian law requires you to carry your passport (or a copy) at all times. Police may ask for ID, especially in tourist areas.
Overstaying is costly
The 90-day period is strict. Overstaying even a day can lead to fines and future entry issues. Set a reminder to leave a few days early.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Tunis-Carthage Airport (or other entry point)
When you land, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (Passeport). There are separate queues for Tunisian nationals and foreigners. Join the foreigners queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready.
2
Present your passport to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity, stamp your entry, and may ask a few questions (purpose of visit, where you're staying, how long). Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After passport control, go to baggage claim, then customs. Unless you're carrying large amounts of cash or restricted goods, you'll walk straight through the green channel.
