Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Romanian passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Kosovo. Border officers at Pristina International Airport check this at the booth — no minimum validity beyond your departure date is required.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Immigration at Pristina Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or the booking confirmation on your phone ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient means for your stay
Have a bank statement or cash equivalent to roughly €50 per day of your stay. Border officers almost never check this for Romanian passport holders, but the regulation exists.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Kosovo requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. If your passport expires sooner, you will be refused entry — no exceptions.
No visa, no fee, no forms
Romanian passport holders enter Kosovo visa-free for up to 90 days. There is no application, no fee, and no arrival form to fill out. Just your passport and a return ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the border
Whether you fly into Pristina International Airport (PRN) or cross by land from Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, or Albania, you'll go through passport control. At Pristina airport, the queue is usually short — 10-20 minutes.
2
Present your passport
Hand over your Romanian passport. The officer will check your validity and blank pages. They may ask how long you're staying and where you're staying.
3
Show supporting documents if asked
Have your return ticket and accommodation confirmation ready. In most cases, they won't ask, but it's better to have them accessible on your phone.
4
Receive your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date. That's it — you're in. No visa, no fee, no forms to fill out.
