Serbian passport holders need a visa to enter Angola. You must apply online before you travel — there’s no visa on arrival for tourism. Plan ahead, as processing can take a couple of weeks.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
You must apply for an Angola eVisa at the SMEVISA portal before departure. The application requires a passport scan, photo, and proof of accommodation. Processing takes 3–5 business days, and the visa is valid for 30 days from issue.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have at least 6 months validity
Your Serbian passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond your intended departure date from Angola. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Luanda Airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready. Without one, you may be refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Angola. Immigration may ask for it during the visa application process or at the border.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Have at least $200 USD in cash or a credit card with available balance. Immigration may ask how you plan to support yourself during your stay.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
Angola requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travelers. Without the certificate, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (and pay a fine). Get the shot at least 10 days before you fly.
Apply early — processing is slow
The e-visa system can be unpredictable. Some applications are approved in 3 days, others take 3 weeks. Don’t book non-refundable flights until you have the visa in hand.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to smevisa.gov.ao, create an account, fill in the application, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 5–10 business days, sometimes longer. Apply at least 3 weeks before your trip.
2
Print your visa approval
Once approved, you’ll receive a PDF. Print it and also save a copy on your phone. You’ll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.
3
Arrive at Luanda Airport (or other entry point)
At immigration, present your passport, visa approval, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp you in. The queue can be slow — expect 30–60 minutes.
4
Get your passport stamped
The visa sticker will be placed in your passport. Check that the entry stamp and dates are correct before leaving the counter.
