RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for a Côte d'Ivoire eVisa at the SNEDAI portal. The application takes about 10 minutes — upload a passport photo and your passport data page. Processing usually takes 2–3 business days, and you receive an approval PDF by email. Print that PDF and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Côte d'Ivoire. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required

Proof of departure from Côte d'Ivoire
Immigration officers at Abidjan airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready. A flight reservation (not yet paid) is usually accepted.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a printed booking avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or cash equivalent to at least 500 USD for your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, you need to show you are not travelling without means.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
You must show proof of yellow fever vaccination (yellow card) at immigration. Unvaccinated travellers may be vaccinated on arrival or denied entry. Get the shot at least 10 days before you fly.
Apply early for the e-visa

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the visa online
Go to the official e-visa portal (snedai.com) and fill out the application. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your visa approval
Once approved, you'll get a PDF visa approval document by email. Print it out — you'll need to show it at the airport check-in counter and again at immigration in Abidjan.
3
Arrive at Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Have your passport, printed visa approval, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 2–5 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually no customs declaration for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
