Serbian passport holders can visit Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 30 days. This policy covers tourism, business, and transit. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for at least the length of your stay in Kazakhstan. Airlines check this at check-in. If your passport expires within 30 days of entry, you may be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kazakhstan
Immigration officers at Almaty and Nur-Sultan airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready. A flight reservation works — you don't need a paid ticket.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. A printed booking confirmation or a screenshot on your phone is fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Immigration can ask for proof of sufficient funds. Carry at least 50,000 KZT (~$110 USD) per day in cash or have a credit card statement ready. ATMs are widely available in cities.Recommended
Overstaying is expensive
If you overstay even by one day, you'll be fined and could be banned from re-entering Kazakhstan for up to 5 years. Set a reminder to leave a few days before your 30 days are up.
Keep a copy of your documents
Take photos of your passport, visa (if any), and return ticket. Store them in your email or cloud. If your passport is lost or stolen, this makes replacement much faster.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport in Kazakhstan
You'll land at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport (NQZ) in Astana or Almaty International Airport (ALA). Follow signs to 'Passport Control' — there are separate queues for Kazakh citizens and foreigners. Join the foreigner queue.
2
Present your passport and documents
Hand over your passport (valid 6+ months) and your boarding pass. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation address. Have them ready on your phone or printed.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (30 days). Check the stamp before walking away — make sure the dates are correct.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare.
