Serbian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Papua New Guinea. This online system replaced the old paper process. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. As of 2026, the eVisa is the standard entry method for tourism and short business visits.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Papua New Guinea eVisa at the official Immigration website. Processing takes up to 3 business days — do not book flights until approved. The eVisa is single-entry and valid for 30 days from issue.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Serbian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Papua New Guinea. Have at least one blank page for the entry stamp.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Port Moresby Jacksons International Airport always ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. If you plan to overland exit, show a flight out of the country — they rarely accept bus or boat tickets.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Have a printed hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask where you are staying on arrival — having a booking ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry at least 500 PGK (approx. 130 EUR) in cash or a credit card statement showing available funds. Officers rarely check, but if asked, you need to show you can cover your stay.Recommended
No visa on arrival
Serbian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Papua New Guinea. You must have an approved eVisa before you board your flight. Airlines will check this at check-in.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Papua New Guinea, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Papua New Guinea eVisa portal. Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a digital passport photo, and pay the fee with a credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be longer. Apply at least 2 weeks before your trip.
2
Receive and print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get an email with the eVisa document. Print a paper copy and also save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival.
3
Check in for your flight
At the airport, the airline will verify your eVisa and onward ticket. Have both ready. They may also ask for proof of accommodation.
4
Arrive at Port Moresby or other airport
After landing, follow signs to immigration. Present your passport, eVisa printout, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport. Keep your boarding pass handy in case they ask about your arrival flight.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then proceed through customs. There are no additional health or arrival declarations required for Serbian passport holders.
