Serbian passport holders must get an e-visa before traveling to Uganda. There is no visa on arrival. The online application is straightforward if you have the required documents ready.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for your Uganda eVisa at the official portal at least 2 weeks before departure. The single-entry tourist eVisa costs $50 USD and is valid for 90 days from issue. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Entebbe will stamp the visa on arrival.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6+ months validity
Your Serbian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Uganda. Have at least two blank visa pages — immigration officers at Entebbe will use one for the entry stamp and one for the visa sticker.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration at Entebbe Airport will ask to see a confirmed onward or return ticket before clearing you. A printed copy or a screenshot of your booking works — just have it ready when you reach the officer.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Have a hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Uganda. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry evidence of sufficient funds — a bank statement showing at least $300 USD or a credit card with available limit. Immigration rarely checks, but having it avoids delays if asked.Recommended
Yellow fever certificate required
Uganda strictly enforces the yellow fever vaccination requirement. You must carry your International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card) — without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport.
Apply early for your e-visa
Processing times can vary. Apply at least 7–10 days before your trip to avoid last-minute stress. The official portal is visas.immigration.go.ug.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Uganda e-visa portal (visas.immigration.go.ug). Fill in the application, upload your passport photo and passport scan, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and keep a copy on your phone.
2
Arrive at Entebbe or another entry point
At Entebbe International Airport (or any land border), join the immigration queue. Have your passport, printed e-visa approval, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp you in — expect a short interview about your plans.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. There's a customs check — declare anything over $500 or restricted goods. Then you're free to leave the arrivals hall.
