Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Belarus. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Belarusian law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Belarus
Immigration officers at Minsk National Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure from Belarus within the visa-free period.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Border officials may request proof of where you are staying. A hotel confirmation or a notarized invitation from a Belarusian host works. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Officers can ask for evidence of financial means. Carry at least the equivalent of €50 per day in cash or a credit card with a recent bank statement. ATMs are widely available in Minsk.Recommended
Union State travel
As a Russian citizen, you can also use your internal passport (not just your foreign passport) to enter Belarus. But for air travel, a foreign passport is still required by most airlines.
Overstaying is serious
Staying longer than 90 days without permission can result in fines, deportation, and a ban from re-entering Belarus. Track your days carefully.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport validity (6+ months from entry), print or save your return ticket, accommodation booking, and insurance. Also get a local SIM or eSIM so you have data on arrival.
2
Arrive at the border
At Minsk National Airport (MSQ) or any land border crossing, join the queue for foreign passport holders. Hand over your passport and any requested documents. The officer will check your details and stamp you in.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay period (usually 90 days). Check the stamp before leaving the booth. That's it — you're in.
