Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Pakistan eVisa at visa.nadra.gov.pk at least 7 days before departure. The online form asks for passport details, travel dates, and a digital photo. Processing takes 3–5 working days for most nationalities.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Pakistan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Show at immigration
Immigration officers at Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad ask for a confirmed onward ticket before stamping you in. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter from your host in Pakistan. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a printed booking avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card showing access to at least $200 USD per day of your stay. Officers rarely ask, but if they do, you need to show you are not working illegally.Recommended
Visa required — apply well in advance
Russian citizens cannot enter Pakistan without a visa. There is no visa-on-arrival. Apply online at visa.nadra.gov.pk at least 2–3 weeks before your trip. Processing can take up to 10 working days.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Pakistan, not from the day you apply for the visa. Check your passport's expiry date before booking anything.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to visa.nadra.gov.pk and fill out the application form. Upload a scanned copy of your passport photo page, a recent passport-size photo, and any supporting documents (like hotel booking and flight itinerary). Pay the visa fee online. Processing usually takes 5–10 working days.
2
Wait for visa approval
Once submitted, the Pakistani consulate or immigration office reviews your application. You'll receive an email notification when the visa is approved. Check your spam folder regularly.
3
Print your visa approval letter
After approval, you'll get a PDF or an email with your visa details. Print a copy and keep it with your passport. Some airlines ask to see it at check-in.
4
Arrive at the airport in Pakistan
At immigration, present your passport (with at least 6 months validity), the visa approval letter, and your return ticket. The officer may ask about your accommodation and purpose of visit. Answer clearly and briefly.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. Keep your documents handy until you're out of the airport.
