Frequently asked questions

No — the visa on arrival is not extendable. If you need to stay longer, you must leave and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type before travel.
Zambia requires a yellow fever vaccination certificate if you're arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever. Rwanda is not on that list, but if you've recently traveled to an endemic country, bring your certificate.
Same process — visa on arrival is available at all official land borders (e.g., Chirundu from Zimbabwe, Nakonde from Tanzania). Have your documents ready and cash for the fee.
Yes, Zambia offers an e-visa for Rwandans, but it's not required. The visa on arrival is simpler and faster for most travellers. If you prefer to apply in advance, use the official Zambia e-visa portal.
Immigration may deny entry or ask you to buy one on the spot. Always have a confirmed onward ticket — even a cheap bus ticket to a neighboring country works.
The visa on arrival typically allows up to 30 days. The exact duration is at the officer's discretion, so be clear about your plans when asked.
