Swedish passport holders can enter Tonga without a visa for stays up to 90 days. This has been the case since 2024. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date.

Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before you board. If your passport has less than 6 months validity from your arrival date, you will not be allowed to fly to Tonga. Renew your passport well in advance.

Arrive at Fuaʻamotu International Airport (TBU)
After landing, follow signs to the immigration hall. There's usually one queue for all foreign passports. Have your passport, return ticket (printed or on phone), and accommodation booking ready.

Present documents to immigration officer
Hand over your passport and any requested documents. The officer will check your passport validity, stamp you in, and may ask how long you're staying. Answer clearly. The whole process takes 5–10 minutes if you're prepared.

Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim. Customs is usually quick — just a quick bag check. Then you're free to exit into the arrivals hall.
