Singapore passport holders can visit Cyprus for tourism or business for up to 90 days without a visa. This applies to the entire Republic of Cyprus, including the British Sovereign Base Areas, and is valid in 2026. Ensure your passport meets entry requirements and you have standard travel documents ready.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure from Cyprus
Your passport needs at least 3 months of validity after your planned exit from Cyprus. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cyprus or the Schengen area
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you'll leave within 90 days. A bus or ferry ticket to another Schengen country works, but a flight out of the Schengen zone is the safest bet.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter for your entire stay
Officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A hotel confirmation or a letter from a host with their address and phone number covers this.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash, cards, or bank statement showing you can support yourself
Cyprus doesn't publish a fixed amount, but having at least €50–€100 per day in accessible funds (cash plus a credit card) avoids any hassle. ATMs are widely available in cities.Recommended
Cyprus is not in Schengen
Even though Cyprus is an EU member, it is not part of the Schengen Area. Your 90-day visa-free stay in Cyprus is separate from the Schengen 90/180-day rule. However, time spent in Cyprus counts toward your 90-day limit if you later enter Schengen countries — so track your days carefully.
Northern Cyprus entry
Entering Cyprus via the northern (Turkish-controlled) side is possible, but you may be refused entry to the Republic of Cyprus later. For visa-free travel, always enter through Larnaca or Paphos airports. If you cross the Green Line, keep your passport stamped only by Republic of Cyprus authorities.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Larnaca or Paphos airport
You'll go through passport control. Join the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport, boarding pass, and return ticket ready. The officer will check your passport validity and stamp you in. The process usually takes 2-5 minutes per person.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport. If asked, show your return ticket and accommodation booking. Answer honestly about your stay purpose (tourism, business meetings, etc.). The officer may ask how long you're staying and where.
3
Receive entry stamp
Once approved, you'll get an entry stamp valid for up to 90 days. Check the stamp says the correct date. Keep your passport safe — you'll need it for hotel check-ins and any police checks.

Frequently asked questions

No. The visa-free stay is strictly 90 days within any 180-day period. Extensions are not available for visa-free visitors. If you need to stay longer, you must apply for a national visa (type D) from the Cypriot embassy before travel.
If you stay airside and don't pass through passport control, no visa is needed. But if you need to enter Cyprus (e.g., to switch terminals or stay overnight), the same visa-free rules apply — up to 90 days.
No. The visa-free entry is for tourism, business meetings, or family visits only. Remote work for a foreign employer is technically not allowed. For digital nomads, Cyprus offers a separate Digital Nomad Visa (valid for up to 1 year).
You will be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry at the border. Renew your passport before travel. There are no exceptions for Singapore passport holders.
No. For stays under 90 days, no registration is required. Just keep your passport with the entry stamp as proof of legal stay.
It's risky. Immigration officers may refuse entry if the passport is damaged (e.g., torn pages, water damage, or a non-functional chip). Best to renew before travel.
Overstaying is a violation. You may be fined, banned from re-entering Cyprus or the Schengen area, or both. The fine is typically around €300–€500, but can be higher depending on the duration. Always leave on time.
