RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Luxembourg. Schengen border officers do not enforce a 6-month validity rule, but your airline might — check with them before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Schengen area
Immigration officers at Luxembourg airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave the Schengen zone within 90 days. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Keep a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and contact details. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least €65 per day of your stay. Officers rarely check, but it covers you if asked.Recommended
90-day limit applies to the entire Schengen area
Your 90-day visa-free stay is for all 27 Schengen countries combined, not just Luxembourg. Days spent in France, Germany, Italy, etc. all count toward the same 90-day limit. Use the Schengen calculator to track your days.
Luxembourg is a Schengen member
Luxembourg is part of the Schengen Area, which means there are no border checks when travelling between Luxembourg and other Schengen countries. Your visa-free entry covers all Schengen states.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Luxembourg Airport (LUX)
You'll land at Findel Airport, about 15 minutes from the city centre. Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'EU/Schengen Passport Control'.
2
Queue at passport control
Join the queue for non-EU travellers. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will check your passport, may ask about your trip purpose and accommodation, and stamp your passport.
3
Present supporting documents if asked
If the officer asks, show your return ticket, accommodation booking, and proof of funds. Keep them in your hand luggage, not checked bags.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim. Then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare.
