No visa needed — but don't skip the checklist
While you don't need a visa, immigration can still ask for proof of onward travel and accommodation. Have these ready on your phone or printed to avoid delays.
eSIMs work immediately on arrival
Airalo eSIMs activate the moment your plane lands — no need to queue at a local shop. Just switch on mobile data and you're connected.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Bauerfield International Airport (Port Vila) or Santo-Pekoa International Airport
After landing, follow signs to Immigration. There's usually one queue for all foreign visitors. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will check your passport validity, stamp you in, and hand back your passport. The whole process takes 5–15 minutes.
2
Collect your luggage and proceed to Customs
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. Then walk through Customs. Declare any food, plants, or animal products. If you have nothing to declare, you'll be waved through quickly.
3
Exit the airport
Once through Customs, you're free to leave. Taxis and hotel shuttles are available outside. If you have a local SIM or eSIM, it should activate as soon as you switch on your phone.
