Slovakia entry requirements for Slovenia passport holders
Slovenian passport holders can enter Slovakia visa-free for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This has been the case since both countries joined the Schengen Area. As of 2026, no visa is needed for tourism, business, or short-term visits.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must be valid for the duration of your stay | Your Slovenian passport only needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Slovakia. No 6-month rule applies for EU citizens. Carry your passport or national ID card — both are accepted at the border. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from Schengen area | Immigration officers at Bratislava airport may ask for a return or onward ticket. Since you're entering the Schengen zone, have a flight booking out of the Schengen area within 90 days. Budget airlines check this at check-in too. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Border officers rarely ask for it, but have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host ready. If staying with friends, their address and phone number are enough. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Cash, card, or bank statement | No set amount is required, but carry a credit card and have access to at least €100 per day of stay. ATMs are widely available in Bratislava and other cities. | Recommended |
