Slovenian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Uganda. The process is entirely online and straightforward — apply before you travel, and you'll get a single-entry visa valid for up to 90 days. As of 2026, there's no visa-on-arrival option for tourism.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Uganda eVisa at the official portal before you fly. Processing takes 2–3 business days, and you need a digital passport photo, flight itinerary, and proof of accommodation. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have at least 6 months validity
Your Slovenian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Uganda. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Entebbe Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready to show. Without one, you risk being denied entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or a letter of invitation from your host in Uganda can speed up the immigration process. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — a recent bank statement or a credit card with a decent limit works. Immigration may ask if you look underprepared, especially for longer trips.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must have a yellow fever vaccination at least 10 days before travel and carry the International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card). Immigration at Entebbe checks this regularly — no card, no entry.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, passport scan, flight tickets, and accommodation confirmations on your phone. Also email them to yourself. If you lose your printed copies, you'll still have access.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Uganda eVisa portal (visas.immigration.go.ug). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50 USD for a single-entry tourist visa) with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 2–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get a PDF via email. Print a copy and keep a digital version on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival in Uganda.
3
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Immigration'. Present your passport, eVisa approval, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will take your fingerprints and a photo, then stamp your passport. The whole process usually takes 10–20 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. If you have nothing to declare, walk through the green channel. You're now free to enter Uganda.
