Slovak passport holders can enter Belarus without a visa for stays up to 30 days. This visa-free regime runs through 2026 and covers both tourism and business visits. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for at least the entire period you plan to stay in Belarus. Airlines at Bratislava and Vienna check this before boarding. No minimum 6-month rule applies for Slovak passport holders.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Belarus
Border officers at Minsk National Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave within 30 days. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this at passport control.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a notarized invitation from a Belarusian host works. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request proof you have enough money for your stay. Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least €50 per day of your trip. They rarely ask, but better to have it.Recommended
Overstaying is serious
Even one day over the 30-day limit can result in a fine of up to 50 BYN (about €15) and a potential ban from re-entering Belarus. Set a reminder to leave on time.
Migration card is your ticket out
The small card you get on arrival must be kept with your passport. You'll hand in the departure portion when you leave. Lose it, and you'll need to visit the police station for a replacement.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Save digital copies on your phone and print backups.
2
Arrive at the border
At Minsk National Airport or any land border crossing, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will check your documents, take a photo, and stamp your passport.
3
Complete migration card
You'll receive a small migration card on arrival. Fill it out in block capitals (English or Russian). Keep the departure portion with your passport — you'll need to hand it in when you leave.
4
Exit Belarus
At departure, present your passport and the migration card departure slip. The officer will stamp you out. Don't lose that card — replacing it is a hassle.
