Slovak passport holders can enter Cyprus without a visa for stays up to 90 days in any 180-day period. This has been the case since Cyprus joined the Schengen Area in 2024. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the day you land.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Slovak passport only needs to be valid for the time you plan to stay in Cyprus. Cyprus does not enforce the 6-month validity rule for EU nationals. Carry your passport or national ID card — both are accepted at the border.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cyprus
Immigration officers at Larnaca and Paphos airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready. A flight booking to another Schengen country also satisfies this requirement.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. Have a hotel confirmation, Airbnb booking, or a signed letter from your host ready. A simple screenshot works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers rarely check bank statements for EU citizens, but they have the right to ask. Carry a credit card and have access to at least €50–100 per day of your stay. A recent bank statement on your phone is enough.Recommended
Cyprus is in the Schengen Area since 2024
Your 90-day visa-free stay counts toward the Schengen 90/180-day rule. If you've already spent time in other Schengen countries, that time counts against your 90 days in Cyprus.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Cyprus. Airlines check this before boarding. If you're close to expiry, renew before you book.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Larnaca or Paphos airport
You'll land at Larnaca International (LCA) or Paphos International (PFO). Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'EU/EEA/Switzerland' passport control. Since Slovakia is in the EU, use the EU lane.
2
Present your passport and documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket or accommodation proof. Have them ready on your phone or printed. They'll stamp your passport and wave you through.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim. Then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have nothing to declare. You're in Cyprus.
