Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If it expires sooner, you will be refused boarding by the airline or denied entry at immigration. Renew your passport before you book.
Keep your departure stub
When you arrive, immigration will give you a small departure slip. Keep it with your passport — you'll need to hand it back when you leave Hong Kong. Losing it means extra paperwork at the airport.

Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. There are separate queues for Hong Kong residents and visitors. Join the 'Visitors' queue.

Present your passport and boarding pass
Hand over your passport and boarding pass to the immigration officer. They may ask your purpose of visit and how long you plan to stay. Answer clearly and briefly.

Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay duration (usually 90 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter.

Collect luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, collect your checked luggage from the carousel. Then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no restricted items.
