Slovak passport holders need an eVisa to enter Togo. The application is entirely online, and you should have your approval before you fly. As of 2026, the process is straightforward but requires a few specific documents.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply for Togo eVisa
Apply online at evisa.gouv.tg before you travel. The eVisa is mandatory for Slovak passport holders — you cannot get a visa on arrival at Lomé Airport. Processing takes 2–3 business days, and you'll receive a PDF approval to print and carry.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Passport validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Togo. Airlines at Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague enforce this strictly — you won't board without meeting it.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration at Lomé Airport asks for a return or onward ticket before they stamp you in. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this at the counter before passport control.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you're staying longer than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient funds for stay
Have evidence of at least 300,000 CFA francs (roughly €450) in cash, bank statement, or credit card. Immigration may ask to see it if you look underprepared.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show proof of yellow fever vaccination (yellow card) on arrival. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport at your own expense.
Currency and cash
Togo uses the West African CFA franc (XOF). Euros are widely accepted at hotels and larger shops, but you'll need local currency for taxis and markets. ATMs are available in Lomé but not always reliable. Bring some euros to exchange.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gouv.tg, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around 30,000 XOF, roughly €45) by credit card. Processing takes 2–5 business days. You'll receive the eVisa by email.
2
Print or save your eVisa
Once approved, print a copy and also save the PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in Lomé.
3
Arrive at Lomé–Tokoin Airport (LFW)
After landing, follow signs to immigration. Present your passport, eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 10–20 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. There's a customs check but it's usually quick for tourists. Then you're free to leave the airport.
