Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for your Cameroon eVisa at the official portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days, so submit at least a week before departure. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration officers at Douala and Yaoundé airports will ask to see it.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Airlines at Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar will check this before letting you board.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Douala and Yaoundé airports routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready to show.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Cameroon. Border officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card ready to demonstrate you have enough money for your stay. Officers rarely check this for short visits, but it helps if questioned.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) at immigration in Cameroon. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on the spot at your own expense. Get the shot at least 10 days before you travel.
No visa on arrival — apply early
There is no visa on arrival for Senegalese passport holders. The eVisa must be approved before you fly. Apply at least a week in advance to avoid last-minute stress.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisacameroon.com, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $80–$100 USD, depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval — typically 2–5 business days.
2
Print or save your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF by email. Print a paper copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration in Cameroon.
3
Pack your documents
Put your passport, eVisa printout, return ticket confirmation, and first-night hotel booking in an easily accessible folder. Keep a digital backup on your phone.
4
Arrive at the airport in Cameroon
At Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport or Douala International Airport, head to the immigration queue for 'eVisa' or 'Foreign Passports'. Hand over your passport and eVisa approval. The officer will stamp you in — no additional forms needed.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, walk straight out.
