Senegalese passport holders need an eVisa to enter Qatar in 2026. The process is entirely online and straightforward, but you must complete it before you travel — there is no visa on arrival for Senegalese passports.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Qatar eVisa through the Hukoomi portal at least a few days before departure. The eVisa is linked to your passport number — print the approval letter and carry it with your boarding pass. Overstay fines in Qatar are 200 QAR per day.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Qatar. Airlines at Dakar check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration at Hamad International Airport asks for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Budget carriers like Air Arabia and IndiGo enforce this strictly at check-in. Have a printed itinerary or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel booking confirmation or a Qatar-based host's address ready. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A simple booking.com confirmation works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Carry a bank statement showing at least 5,000 QAR (about $1,370) or equivalent in cash. Immigration rarely asks, but if you look under-prepared, they may request proof of financial means.Recommended
Apply early — don't wait until the last minute
eVisa processing can take up to 5 business days. Apply at least a week before your flight to avoid stress. Weekends and Qatari public holidays can slow things down.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, flight booking, and hotel confirmation on your phone. Screenshots work fine. This makes immigration faster and gives you a backup if you lose the paper copy.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to the Hukoomi portal (Qatar's official government services website). Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel dates. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a passport-style photo. Pay the fee online — typically around 100 QAR. Processing takes 2–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa by email. Print a paper copy and also save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival in Qatar.
3
Arrive at Hamad International Airport (DOH)
After landing, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the queue for 'Visitors with eVisa'. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will scan your passport and stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 10–20 minutes.
