Senegalese passport holders can visit Seychelles for tourism or business stays up to 90 days without a visa. This policy has been in place for years and remains unchanged in 2026. Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date and you have a return or onward ticket.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire time you plan to be in Seychelles. No minimum validity beyond your stay is required, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Seychelles
Immigration officers at Seychelles International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have at least $150 USD per day available in cash, card, or bank statement. Immigration officers can request proof of funds at the border — show a recent statement or credit card limit.Recommended
No visa needed, but don't skip the basics
Even though there's no visa, immigration can still deny entry if you don't have a return ticket, valid passport, or proof of accommodation. Have all three ready before you queue.
Overstaying is expensive
If you stay past your 90-day permit without an extension, you'll be fined SCR 1,000 per day or more. In serious cases, you could be banned from re-entering Seychelles for up to 5 years.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
You'll land at Pointe Larue on Mahé island. Follow signs to immigration. There are usually two queues: one for Seychellois and residents, one for visitors. Join the visitors queue.
2
Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on your phone), and accommodation booking. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a visitor's permit valid for up to 90 days.
3
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's nothing special to declare for most tourists. If you're bringing in large amounts of cash or restricted goods, use the red channel.
4
Exit the airport
Once through customs, you're free to go. Taxis and hotel shuttles are available outside. If you arranged a transfer, your driver will be waiting with a sign.

Frequently asked questions

Up to 90 days per visit. This is granted as a visitor's permit at the airport. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to apply for an extension from the Department of Immigration in Victoria, but extensions are not guaranteed and cost around SCR 1,000 (about $75).
Yes, but it's not automatic. You must apply at the Seychelles Department of Immigration in Victoria before your 90 days expire. The fee is about SCR 1,000. Extensions are granted on a case-by-case basis, usually for up to 3 more months. Overstaying without permission can result in fines or deportation.
Only if you're arriving from a country with yellow fever risk. Senegal is not on that list, so you don't need it. But if you've recently traveled to a yellow fever endemic country, you'll need to show the certificate.
You'll likely be denied boarding by the airline. Seychelles immigration requires 6 months of validity from your arrival date. If your passport is close to expiring, renew it before you travel.
No. The visa-free entry is for tourism, business meetings, or short visits only. Any paid work requires a work permit. If you're caught working without one, you risk deportation and a ban.
No. There's no online arrival declaration for Seychelles. You'll fill out a simple landing card on the plane or at the airport. Just basic info: name, passport number, flight, accommodation.
The local currency is the Seychellois rupee (SCR). US dollars and euros are widely accepted at hotels and larger restaurants, but you'll get better rates using rupees. ATMs are available at the airport and in Victoria. Credit cards work at most hotels but less so at small shops.
