Thai passport holders need a visa to enter Pakistan in 2026. You must apply online through the official visa portal before you travel — there is no visa on arrival for Thai nationals.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Visa required
Apply for a visa through the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the NADRA eVisa portal before travel. The eVisa portal at visa.nadra.gov.pk processes tourist, business, and conference visas — processing takes 7–10 working days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to the airline check-in counter.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid on arrival
Your Thai passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Pakistan. Airlines at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang check this before issuing a boarding pass — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa holders
Immigration officers at Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore airports ask to see a confirmed onward or return flight ticket. A printed itinerary or a digital copy on your phone works — just make sure the booking reference is visible.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended
Have a hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Pakistan ready. Officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you are arriving without a pre-arranged tour or family visit.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended
Carry bank statements or a credit card showing access to at least 20,000 THB or equivalent (approx. 150,000 PKR). Immigration rarely asks, but having it avoids delays if you get selected for secondary inspection.Recommended
No visa on arrival — apply early
Thai nationals cannot get a visa at the airport. The online application takes 5–10 working days, so start at least 3 weeks before your trip. Do not book non-refundable flights until your visa is approved.
Police registration for stays over 30 days
If your visa allows a stay longer than 30 days, you must register at the local police station within 7 days of arrival. Bring your passport and visa. This is a legal requirement — skipping it can cause problems when leaving.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to visa.nadra.gov.pk and create an account. Fill in the application form, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online (around $25–$60 depending on visa type). Processing takes 5–10 working days.
2
Wait for approval and print your visa
Once approved, you'll receive an email with a visa grant letter. Print it and keep a digital copy on your phone. The visa is usually a single-entry sticker valid for 90 days from issue.
3
Arrive at a Pakistani airport
At Islamabad, Karachi, or Lahore airports, go to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport, visa grant letter, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Typical entry is 30 days, but check your visa for the exact duration.
4
Register with the police (if staying long-term)
If you plan to stay more than 30 days, you must register at the nearest police station within 7 days of arrival. Bring your passport and visa. This is a legal requirement — skipping it can cause problems when leaving.
