What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to the official Chad eVisa portal (https://e-visa.td/) and fill out the application. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio-data page. Pay the fee (around $100 USD for single-entry tourist visa). Processing takes 1–2 weeks, so apply at least 14 days before your flight.
2
Prepare your documents for departure
Print your eVisa approval email, your return/onward ticket, and your hotel booking confirmation. Make a photocopy of your passport bio-data page and keep it separate from your passport. Pack at least 500 USD in cash (or have a bank statement handy).
3
Arrive at N'Djamena International Airport
After landing, head to the immigration hall. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport, eVisa printout, return ticket, and accommodation proof ready. The officer may ask about your purpose of visit and how long you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport — check the entry stamp for the correct validity before leaving the counter.
4
Exit the airport
After immigration, collect your luggage and proceed to customs. Declare any large amounts of cash (over 10,000 USD or equivalent) if required. Then you're free to exit.
