You need a visa to enter Mongolia. Apply at the nearest Mongolian embassy or consulate before departure — there is no visa on arrival for Tunisian passport holders. Processing takes 5–10 business days depending on the embassy.Check visa requirementsRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Mongolia. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Mongolia
Immigration officers at Ulaanbaatar's Chinggis Khaan International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version ready on your phone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Mongolia. Immigration may ask for it if you cannot clearly state where you are staying.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have bank statements or a credit card showing sufficient funds for your trip. Officers rarely ask, but if they do, you need to show at least $50 USD per day of your intended stay.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Mongolia. If it expires sooner, you'll be turned away at check-in or immigration.
eSIM saves time at the airport
Instead of queuing for a local SIM at Ulaanbaatar airport, buy an Airalo eSIM before you fly. It activates as soon as you land — you'll have data immediately.

What happens at the border

2
Receive and save your visa
Once approved, you'll get an email with a PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll show this at immigration in Ulaanbaatar.
3
Prepare your documents for the airport
Before you fly, have your passport, printed e-visa, return ticket, and hotel booking ready. At check-in, the airline may ask to see your visa.
4

After landing, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports'. Hand over your passport, e-visa printout, and boarding pass. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where. Answer clearly. They'll stamp you in.
