Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Uganda eVisa
Apply online at the official Uganda eVisa portal before travel. The eVisa is linked to your passport and covers tourism or business visits. Processing takes 2–3 business days — do not book flights until approved.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months
Your Tunisian passport must have at least 6 months of validity beyond your intended departure date from Uganda. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration at Entebbe Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready. Overland exit plans are not accepted — you need a confirmed flight out.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Uganda. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Evidence of sufficient money
Have bank statements or a credit card showing you can cover your stay. Uganda does not publish a fixed minimum, but officers expect to see at least $100 USD per day of your trip.Recommended
Apply early — don't leave it to the last minute
eVisa processing can take up to 5 business days. If you apply too close to your flight and it gets delayed, you won't be able to board. Apply at least 10 days before departure.
Print everything — don't rely on your phone alone
Immigration officers often ask for printed documents. Carry a physical copy of your eVisa approval, return ticket, and hotel booking. Phone screens can die or lose signal.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Uganda eVisa portal (visas.immigration.go.ug). Fill in the application form, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online by credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive your eVisa approval letter
Once approved, you'll get an email with an approval letter. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. The letter is valid for 90 days from issue — you must enter Uganda within that window.
3
Arrive at Entebbe or a land border
At Entebbe International Airport (the main entry point), go to the visa/immigration counter. Present your passport, printed eVisa approval, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Land borders like Busia or Malaba work the same way.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After the immigration stamp, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
