Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus

Apply before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Zambia. Apply at the official Zambia eVisa portal — processing takes 3 to 5 working days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Tunisian passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Zambia. Have at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Zambia. Officers may ask for it if you don't have a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have bank statements or cash showing you can support yourself during your visit. There's no set minimum, but around $500 USD for a short trip is a safe benchmark.Recommended
No visa-on-arrival for Tunisian passport holders
Do not show up at the airport expecting to get a visa on arrival. The eVisa must be approved before you board your flight. Airlines will check this before issuing your boarding pass.
Keep your eVisa accessible offline
Internet in Zambian airports can be spotty. Save the eVisa PDF to your phone's local storage and carry a printed copy in your hand luggage. Immigration officers will ask for it.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Zambia eVisa portal (evisa.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm). Fill in your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a passport-style photo. Pay the fee (around $50 for a single-entry tourist visa) by credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa approval
You'll get an email with a PDF attachment — the eVisa approval letter. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. The barcode on the letter is scanned at immigration.
3
Arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (Lusaka) or Harry Mwanga Nkumbula (Livingstone)
Most Tunisian travellers arrive in Lusaka or Livingstone. Go to the immigration desk, present your passport, eVisa printout, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp you in. The whole process takes 10–20 minutes if your documents are in order.

Yes, the eVisa is valid for entry at all official border posts, including land crossings from Tanzania, Malawi, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The same approval letter works.
