Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply for DR Congo eVisa
Apply online at visa.gouv.cd before you travel. The eVisa is mandatory for Turkish passport holders — no visa on arrival available. Processing takes 3–5 business days, and you need to upload a passport photo and a scanned passport data page.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from DR Congo
Your passport needs at least two blank visa pages. The 6-month validity rule is strictly enforced by airlines and immigration officers at Kinshasa and Lubumbashi airports.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Airlines also check this before boarding — have a printed or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in DR Congo. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you're staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or bank statement
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you can support yourself. There's no fixed minimum, but having around $200–$300 in cash (USD) helps — ATMs are unreliable outside Kinshasa.Recommended
eVisa required — no visa on arrival
Turkish passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in DR Congo. You must apply and receive approval before you fly. Without an approved eVisa, you will be denied boarding.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in DR Congo, not from your departure date. Check your passport now.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to visa.gouv.cd and fill out the application. Upload a passport photo and your passport data page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be faster.
2
Receive eVisa approval
You'll get an approval email with a PDF. Print it or save it on your phone. Immigration at Kinshasa N'djili Airport (FIH) and Lubumbashi Airport (FBM) will check it on arrival.
3
Prepare documents for arrival
Have your passport, eVisa approval, return ticket, and accommodation booking ready. Keep them in your hand luggage — you'll need them at immigration.
4
Arrive and go through immigration
At the airport, join the immigration queue. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask about your return ticket and where you're staying. Answer clearly. After stamping, you're in.
