Transiting through Ghana

Transit visa required

Turkish nationals transiting through Ghana (Kotoka International Airport) require a visa unless they remain airside and have a confirmed onward ticket within 24 hours. However, due to lack of a formal airside transit exemption for Turkish passport holders, a visa is generally required.

Exceptions & conditions
  • Diplomatic or official passport holders may be exempt.
  • Passengers with a confirmed onward ticket and no need to clear immigration may be allowed to stay airside for up to 24 hours, but this is at the discretion of immigration officials.
