Agricultural Inspection
All food, plants, and animal products must be declared and inspected by the Ministry of Agriculture. Failure to declare can result in fines or confiscation. Uncooked poultry from countries with avian flu is strictly prohibited.
Temporary Import of Vehicles
Vehicles brought in for tourism (e.g., carnet de passage) are allowed for up to 3 months without duty, but must be re-exported. A bond may be required. Overstaying incurs duty and penalties.
Currency Declaration
Any amount over XCD 27,000 (approx. USD 10,000) must be declared. Non-declaration can lead to seizure and penalties. This applies to cash, traveler's checks, and monetary instruments.
