Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Grenada
Your Tanzanian passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Grenada does not require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date — just make sure it covers your stay. Airlines flying into Grenada may still ask for 6 months, so check with your carrier before you fly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Grenada
Immigration officers at Maurice Bishop International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Officers may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number covers this. I have been asked for it twice in the last year.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Immigration can request evidence of sufficient funds — roughly $100 USD per day is a safe benchmark. A recent bank statement or a credit card with a decent limit works. They rarely ask, but when they do, they expect a clear answer.Recommended
Visa-free for 90 days
Tanzanian passport holders can enter Grenada without a visa for stays up to 90 days. No embassy visit, no application fee. Just show up with a valid passport and a return ticket.
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Grenada. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be turned away.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND)
You'll deplane and walk to the immigration hall. There's a single queue for all non-citizens. Wait time is usually 15–30 minutes.
2
Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on phone), and accommodation booking if asked. The officer will ask your purpose of visit and how long you're staying. Answer clearly.
3
Get your passport stamped
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date and writes the number of days allowed (usually 90). Check the stamp before walking away.
4
Collect luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then walk through customs. Green channel if you have nothing to declare, red channel if you do.
