Your Tanzanian passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Mongolia. Airlines at Dar es Salaam may ask to see your eVisa approval before issuing a boarding pass.Required

Immigration officers at Ulaanbaatar routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or a letter of invitation from a host in Mongolia can speed up the immigration process. Officers rarely ask, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry cash (USD or MNT) or a debit/credit card showing you can cover your stay. Immigration rarely checks, but budget airlines may ask at check-in.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
Tanzanian passport holders cannot enter Mongolia without an approved eVisa. There is no visa on arrival, and border officials will deny entry if you don't have one. Apply at least a week before your trip.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Mongolia, not from when you apply for the eVisa. Double-check your passport's expiry date before you start the application.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
