What happens at the border

1
Apply online for your e-visa
Go to https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/ and create an account. Fill in the application form, upload your photo and passport scan, and pay the visa fee. The portal is the only official way to apply — don't use third-party agents unless you're sure they're legitimate.
2
Wait for approval
Processing typically takes a few business days. You'll receive an email with your e-visa approval. Check your spam folder — it sometimes lands there. Print a copy to carry with you.
3
Check in and fly
At the airport, show your printed e-visa and passport at check-in. The airline will verify your visa before issuing a boarding pass. If you don't have it, you won't be allowed on the plane.
4
Arrive at a Nigerian airport
On arrival at Lagos (LOS), Abuja (ABV), or any other international airport, go to the immigration desk. Present your passport, e-visa, and yellow fever certificate. The officer will check your details, take your fingerprints and photo, and stamp your passport. Keep your e-visa with you for the duration of your stay.
