Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay in Qatar. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers in Doha routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or onward ticket ready at the counter.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Qatar immigration may ask where you are staying. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their QID number ready. A booking printout works fine.Recommended

Officers rarely ask, but carry a bank statement or credit card showing at least 5,000 QAR (about $1,370 USD) available. Cash is not required — a card and statement suffice.Recommended
eVisa is the only option
Tanzanian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Qatar. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. No exceptions.
No arrival declaration needed
You don't need to fill out any arrival form or health declaration when landing in Doha. Just your passport, eVisa, and return ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Hukoomi portal (Qatar's official government services site) and fill out the eVisa application. You'll need your passport details, a digital photo, and your travel dates. Pay the fee online — it's usually around 100 QAR (about $27 USD). Processing takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa as a PDF via email. Print a copy and save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival in Doha.
3
Arrive at Hamad International Airport (DOH)
When you land in Doha, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the queue for 'Visitors with eVisa'. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 2–3 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. There's no arrival declaration form to fill out. You're free to enter Qatar.
