eVisa is tied to your passport
Your eVisa approval is linked to the passport number you used in the application. If you renew your passport after getting the eVisa, you'll need to reapply with the new passport.
Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) applies
Most tourists must pay a daily SDF of $100 USD per night. This is separate from the eVisa fee and is usually paid when you book your trip. Check the official Bhutan tourism site for exemptions.

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Bhutan eVisa portal (usually through the Department of Immigration). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the visa fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days, sometimes longer. Apply at least 3 weeks before your flight.

Receive your eVisa approval letter
Once approved, you'll get an email with an approval letter. Print a copy and keep a digital version on your phone. The letter includes a QR code that immigration will scan.

Arrive at Paro International Airport
Paro is the only international airport in Bhutan. After landing, follow signs to immigration. Have your passport, eVisa approval letter, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will scan your passport and the QR code, then stamp you in.

Exit immigration and collect luggage
After the stamp, you're officially in Bhutan. Collect your bags from the carousel and head to the arrivals hall. If you booked a tour or hotel transfer, your driver will be waiting with a sign.
