Ukrainian passport holders can visit Denmark for up to 90 days without a visa. This covers tourism, business, and family visits. As of 2026, the rules remain unchanged — just ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your entry date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay in Denmark
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Denmark. Schengen rules do not require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date, but airlines sometimes enforce this — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Schengen area
Immigration at Copenhagen Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket showing you leave the Schengen zone within 90 days. Budget airlines may refuse boarding without one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel confirmation, hostel booking, or a letter from your host in Denmark ready. Border officers sometimes ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Carry bank statements, a credit card, or cash equivalent to at least 500 DKK per day of your stay. Officers may ask to see it if you look like you might overstay or work illegally.Recommended
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the day you enter Denmark. If it expires sooner, you will be denied entry at the border. Check your passport now, not the night before your flight.
90-day rule applies to the whole Schengen area
Your 90-day visa-free stay is for the entire Schengen zone, not just Denmark. Days spent in France, Germany, Italy, etc. all count toward the same 90-day limit. Use the Schengen calculator to track your days.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before travel
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date). Book your return ticket and first night accommodation. Get travel insurance and a local SIM or eSIM. Save all confirmations as screenshots on your phone.
2
Arrive at Danish border control
At Copenhagen Airport or any other Danish entry point, join the 'Non-EU' queue. Have your passport and any supporting documents ready. The officer will check your passport, ask about the purpose of your visit, and may request proof of onward travel or accommodation.
3
Receive entry stamp
If everything is in order, the officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. This stamp marks the start of your 90-day visa-free stay. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it for your exit.
4
Enjoy your stay
You can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. The clock resets once you leave the Schengen area. Overstaying can result in fines or a ban.
