Ukrainian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Gabon in 2026. The eVisa is an online application — no embassy visit required. Processing can take up to a week, and you'll need a few documents ready.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Gabon eVisa at evisa.gouv.ga before departure. The process takes 3–5 business days — do not book non-refundable flights until approved. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Gabon. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Libreville International Airport ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready. Without one, you may be refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or an invitation letter from your host in Gabon help speed up immigration. Officers occasionally ask for an address where you will stay.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — bank statements or a credit card. Immigration may ask how you plan to cover expenses, especially if you have no return ticket.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
Gabon strictly enforces the yellow fever vaccination requirement. You must carry your International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card) and show it at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (and pay a fine).
eVisa is single entry only
The Gabon eVisa is valid for a single entry. If you leave Gabon (even for a day trip to Equatorial Guinea or Cameroon), you'll need a new eVisa to re-enter. Plan your itinerary accordingly.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gouv.ga, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around €70–€100 depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval — typically 3–7 days.
2
Print your eVisa and pack documents
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF by email. Print a copy and save it on your phone. Also print your return ticket and accommodation confirmation — immigration at Libreville Airport may ask for all three.
3
Arrive at Libreville International Airport (LBV)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp your passport — no additional forms needed.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim. Customs is usually straightforward — just walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare. Taxis and ride-hailing apps (like Gozem) are available outside.

No, the eVisa is not extendable. If you need to stay longer, you must leave and reapply from outside Gabon. The standard eVisa allows a single entry for up to 30 days.

Yes, Gabon requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers over 1 year old. You'll need to show your yellow card (International Certificate of Vaccination) at immigration. Get the shot at least 10 days before travel.
No. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.
Not officially required for the application, but immigration officers sometimes ask for proof of insurance. More importantly, medical evacuation from Gabon can cost €10,000+ — insurance is a smart investment.
The currency is the Central African CFA franc (XAF). Euros and US dollars are widely accepted at hotels and larger restaurants, but you'll need CFA for taxis and markets. Bring some euros or dollars to exchange at the airport or a bank. ATMs are available in Libreville but can be unreliable.
