Ukrainian passport holders can visit Monaco without a visa for up to 90 days. This has been the case since the visa-free agreement with the Schengen area came into effect. Just make sure your passport meets the standard requirements before you travel.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Monaco. Since Monaco is not a Schengen member but has open borders with France, French immigration enforces the same rules — your passport just needs to cover your stay, not 6 months beyond.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Schengen area
Immigration officers at the French border (where you enter Monaco) routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave the Schengen zone within 90 days. Have a printed or digital copy ready — budget airlines check this before boarding too.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Keep a hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host in Monaco. Officers rarely ask for it, but if they do, you need a clear address and contact details ready on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough money for your stay. There's no fixed amount, but around €65–€100 per day is a safe benchmark if asked.Recommended
Monaco is not a Schengen member — but entry rules are the same
Monaco has an open border with France, so you enter through French immigration. The 90-day visa-free limit is the same as the Schengen area. Your stay in Monaco counts toward your Schengen 90-day allowance.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the border
Monaco doesn't have its own airport. You'll fly into Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE) in France, then take a bus, train, or helicopter to Monaco. French border police handle entry checks.
2
Queue at passport control
At Nice Airport, join the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where.
3
Receive entry stamp
If everything's in order, you'll get a Schengen entry stamp. This starts your 90-day clock. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when leaving.
4
Travel to Monaco
After clearing French immigration, collect your luggage and head to the bus station (Terminal 1 or 2) for the 100 Express bus to Monaco. The ride takes about 45 minutes.
