Ukrainian passport holders must obtain an eVisa to enter Somalia. This single-entry permit is valid for 30 days and requires an online application before travel. Since 2026, this is the standard entry procedure.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Somalia eVisa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Mogadishu Airport will stamp it on arrival.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Ukrainian passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Somalia. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Mogadishu Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. Overstaying is not allowed — your eVisa determines the exact exit date.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Somalia. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a booking ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Have at least $500 USD in cash or a bank statement showing sufficient funds. Somalia is a cash-based economy — credit cards are rarely accepted outside major hotels in Mogadishu.Recommended
Security situation
Somalia has ongoing security risks. Check your government's travel advisory before booking. Register with your embassy upon arrival.
eVisa is single-entry
The eVisa allows one entry only. If you leave Somalia, you'll need to apply for a new eVisa to re-enter.

What happens at the border

2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa document. Print a copy and also save a digital version on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.
3

At Mogadishu Aden Adde International Airport (or other entry points), proceed to the immigration counter. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through.
