What happens at the border

1
Contact the nearest Congolese embassy or consulate
Find the Republic of the Congo embassy or consulate that handles visa applications for your region. In Uganda, there may not be a resident embassy — you might need to apply through a neighboring country's embassy (e.g., in Kenya or Rwanda). Call or email to confirm the exact requirements and appointment process.
2
Prepare your application package
Gather all required documents: passport, photos, application form, flight itinerary, hotel booking or invitation letter, yellow fever certificate, and visa fee. Make copies of everything for your records.
3
Submit your application in person or by mail
Depending on the embassy's policy, you may need to appear in person for biometrics or an interview. Some embassies accept applications by mail. Follow their instructions exactly to avoid delays.
4
Wait for processing
Visa processing can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Ask the embassy for an estimated timeline when you apply. Do not book non-refundable flights until you have the visa in hand.
5
Collect your visa and verify details
Once approved, check the visa sticker for errors — your name, passport number, validity dates, and number of entries. If anything is wrong, have it corrected before you travel.
6
Arrive at Maya-Maya International Airport (Brazzaville)
At immigration, present your passport with the visa, your yellow fever certificate, and any other documents requested. Be prepared to answer questions about your stay. After clearing immigration, you'll collect your bags and exit through customs.
