Ugandan passport holders must get an eVisa before traveling to Libya. The online system replaced older visa processes, and as of 2026, there is no visa-on-arrival option. Apply online before your flight.

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Libyan eVisa website and complete the application form. Upload a digital passport photo and a copy of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online with a credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.

Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.

Prepare your documents for departure
At the airport in Uganda, present your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation booking. The airline will verify your eligibility to enter Libya.

Arrive at a Libyan airport
Most flights arrive at Tripoli International Airport (TIP) or Benghazi (BEN). After landing, follow signs to immigration. Have your passport, eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through.
