Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Oman. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers in Muscat enforce it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Oman immigration requires proof of a return or onward flight. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready — they ask for it at passport control in Muscat International Airport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration officers may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and contact number ready.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can ask for evidence of sufficient funds for your stay. Carry a bank statement or credit card showing at least $500 USD equivalent.Recommended
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Oman. If it expires sooner, you will be denied boarding — no exceptions.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, passport scan, and flight booking to your phone and email. If you lose your printed documents, you can still show them at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to evisa.rop.gov.om, fill in your details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around 20 OMR for a tourist eVisa). Processing usually takes 1–3 business days.
2
Print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print at least two copies — one to hand to immigration, one as backup. Also save a digital copy on your phone.
3
Arrive at Muscat International Airport
Follow signs to 'Passport Control' (not 'GCC Nationals'). Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket ready.
4
Present documents and receive entry stamp
Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask about your accommodation and return flight. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp — check the date is correct before walking away.
