Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Pakistan eVisa
Apply for a Pakistan eVisa at visa.nadra.gov.pk before you travel. The online form asks for your passport details, a recent photo, and your travel itinerary. Processing takes 7–10 working days for most nationalities, and you'll receive the approved visa by email — print a copy to show at immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Ugandan passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Pakistan. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers in Islamabad and Karachi will deny boarding if your passport expires before you leave.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration at Pakistani airports routinely asks for proof of a confirmed onward or return flight. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready — they will check the date matches your visa validity.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Pakistan. Immigration officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you're arriving on a tourist visa.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement or enough cash (around $200–$300 USD equivalent) to cover your stay. Officers rarely ask, but it's better to have proof if questioned.Recommended
Passport Validity is Strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly.
eVisa is the Only Option
Ugandan passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival for Pakistan. You must have an approved eVisa before you travel. No exceptions.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa Online
Go to visa.nadra.gov.pk. Fill in your personal details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days.
2
Receive and Print Your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa PDF. Print at least one copy and save it on your phone. The visa is linked to your passport number, so you don't need to carry the original document.
3
Prepare Your Documents for Arrival
Before you land, have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and hotel booking confirmation easily accessible. Keep them in your hand luggage, not checked bags.
4
Go Through Immigration at the Airport
At any international airport in Pakistan (Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore), join the 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask about your purpose of visit, where you're staying, and when you're leaving. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport and you're in.
