Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the length of your stay in Seychelles. Immigration at Seychelles International Airport checks this at the counter — they do not enforce a 6-month validity rule for Ugandan passport holders.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Seychelles
Immigration officers at Seychelles International Airport will ask for a return or onward ticket before granting entry. Airlines also check this at check-in — if you don't have one, they may deny boarding.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration may ask for it at the counter, especially if you're arriving without a pre-booked itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Carry proof of at least $150 USD per day or a credit card with available limit. Immigration rarely asks, but if you look underfunded they can deny entry.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccination required
If you're arriving from Uganda (or have been in Uganda within 6 days before travel), you must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. Without it, you may be quarantined or denied entry.
No visa, no fee
Entry is completely free for Ugandan passport holders. No visa application, no payment, no waiting. Just show up with the right documents.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from arrival). Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Save screenshots or printouts of both. Consider getting travel insurance and a local eSIM.
2
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
After landing, follow signs to immigration. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and how long you're staying. Answer clearly.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 90-day visitor permit. No fee is charged. Keep the stamp readable — it shows your allowed stay period.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. You're free to enter Seychelles.
