Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Border officers may ask for a return or onward ticket to confirm you plan to leave Ukraine within your visa validity. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may ask for a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Ukraine. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for your stay
Officers can ask for proof you have enough money to cover your trip — bank statements or cash work. No fixed amount is published, but having at least $50 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Apply early — no rush service
There is no expedited or same-day visa option. If you apply too close to your travel date and it's delayed, you'll have to reschedule your trip. Give yourself at least 2 weeks.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your visa approval, flight tickets, and hotel booking as PDFs on your phone and email them to yourself. If you lose your phone, you can still access them from any device.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to evisa.gov.ua/en/, fill out the application, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $20-30 USD) and submit. Processing takes 5-10 working days.
2
Book your travel and accommodation
Once your visa is approved, book a return flight and your first night's stay. Print or save the confirmations — you'll show them at passport control.
3
Arrive at a Ukrainian airport
At Boryspil (Kyiv) or Lviv airport, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport, visa printout (or digital copy), and return ticket. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying. Answer clearly.
4
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with your entry date and allowed stay (usually 30 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter — if the dates look wrong, ask for correction immediately.
