What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
You'll land at Dubai (DXB or DWC), Abu Dhabi (AUH), or Sharjah (SHJ). Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then to 'Passport Control'.
2
Join the visitor queue
Look for the line marked 'Visitors' or 'Tourists' — not the one for UAE residents or GCC nationals. US citizens can use the e-gates at Dubai if you've registered, but the regular queue is fine.
3
Present your passport
Hand over your passport and any requested documents (return ticket, proof of funds). The officer will scan it, stamp it, and wave you through. No visa fee, no forms.
4
Collect your bags and exit
After the stamp, grab your luggage from the carousel and head through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel unless you have items to declare.
