Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Visa-free entryYou don't need to apply for a visa in advance; just show your passport at immigration. No visa required for US citizens | US citizens can enter Qatar without a visa for tourism or business stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. | Required |
| Passport validityQatar enforces the 6-month validity rule strictly; an expiring passport can get you denied boarding. 6 months from arrival | Your US passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of arrival in Qatar. If it expires sooner, renew it before traveling. | Required |
| Blank passport pagesImmigration officers need a blank page to stamp your passport upon arrival. At least 1 blank page | Your passport must have at least 1 blank visa page (not the endorsement page) for the entry stamp. Ensure you have a clean, unused page available. | Required |
| Return or onward ticketA booked ticket out of Qatar proves you're not planning to overstay. Proof of departure | You must have a confirmed return or onward flight ticket showing you will leave Qatar before the end of your 90-day stay. This is checked at check-in and may be requested at immigration. | Required |
| Proof of fundsCarry a credit card or a recent bank statement just in case an officer asks how you'll support yourself. Sufficient financial means | You should be able to show evidence of sufficient funds (e.g., cash, credit cards, bank statements) to cover your stay in Qatar. While not always requested, it's a standard immigration requirement. | Recommended |
| Arrival declarationYou can simply proceed through immigration with your passport. Not required | No arrival declaration or pre-registration is required for US citizens entering Qatar. You do not need to fill out any online form before arrival. | Not required |
| E-visa applicationSkip the online visa application; it's only for nationalities that require a visa. Not applicable | Since US citizens are visa-free, you do not need to apply for an e-visa through Qatar's Ministry of Interior portal. The visa is granted automatically upon arrival. | Not required |
