Yellow fever certificate required
If you've been in any country with yellow fever (including transit), you must show the vaccination certificate at immigration. Without it, you may be vaccinated on arrival or denied entry. Check the CDC or WHO list before you travel.
Cash is king at the visa counter
While credit cards are accepted, the visa-on-arrival process is faster with crisp US dollar bills. Bring $50–$70 in small denominations. Avoid torn or marked notes — they may be refused.

Arrive at Kigali International Airport
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Immigration'. The counter is before the main passport control booths. Queue here first.

Submit documents and pay
Hand over your passport, return ticket (screenshot or print), and accommodation booking. Pay the fee: $50 single-entry or $70 multiple-entry. Cash USD is fastest; credit cards accepted but may take longer.

Receive visa and proceed to passport control
The officer stamps the visa sticker into your passport. Then walk to the main passport control queue. Show your passport with the fresh visa. You're in.
