What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to evisa.e-gov.kz, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee ($20–$80 depending on visa type) and submit. Processing takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive eVisa by email
You'll get a PDF approval via email. Print it out and save a copy on your phone. The eVisa is linked to your passport number — no sticker in your passport.
3
Arrive at Kazakh immigration
At the airport in Almaty, Astana, or any other entry point, go to the foreign passport queue. Hand over your passport and printed eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking — have them ready. They'll stamp you in.
